Custom Essential Oil Inhalers are for people who want an inhaler and either don’t want to create it themselves or do not have the oils they need. If we’ve discussed a custom inhaler, add info from our discussion in the notes section of your checkout process to remind me please 🙂
Inhalers can last anywhere from 1 month to 6 months, depending on how of ten you need to use them and how they are stored. We recommend storing your inhaler in a zippered storage bag (we like Ziploc Freezer bags) in the fridge or even in the freezer for longer term storage. Personally, if I have one I need regularly, I’ll keep it with me during the day but store in the fridge at night. If I don’t need it for a while (a few months), I will store it in the freezer. When removing from the fridge or freezer, allow to come to room temp before using so that all constituents are back to a liquid state. Essential oils may be less effective if some constituents are still in a solidified state from cold temps, per Dr. Robert Pappas (Essential Oil University Facebook Page).
Custom Essential Oil Inhaler Safety Info
As this is a custom product, safety info will be given to you through our discussion. Our source for such safety info is the book by Tisserand, Robert and Young, Rodney. Essential Oil Safety: A Guide for Health Care Professionals: Churchill Livingstone; 2 edition (December 2, 2013). We recommend reading about the various oils in your custom essential oil inhaler.
While we’ve made this clear that we are selling this essential oil to use in your diffuser, your inhaler, or topically (diluted), it is a pure essential oil and can be used as such. With all essential oils:
- Never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes (this includes mouth, ear canals, noses, genital regions as well as internal areas). The strength of essential oils can easily damage these soft tissue areas.
- Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner.
- Keep away from children.
- If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier).

Oral Safety is only given because many people have been told to take oils internally. Because several people look to us for safety advice, we feel obligated to offer those safety statements, although we do not believe anyone should be ingesting essential oils without being guided by an expert. Experts will take your medical history into account before they suggest oils for you to ingest, diffuse, or use topically.
